Privacy

The short version: your words never leave your device, we count visits without cookies or personal data, and payment is handled by Payhip.

Your words

The crossword is built in your browser. Your answers, clues, title and dedication are never sent to us or to anyone else. They are kept in this browser’s storage (localStorage) so they are still there when you come back from the checkout, together with your download code. Clearing your browser data removes them.

What we count

The page sends anonymous counts to our server: a visit, a preview, a click on Buy, a download, a colour change, a payment. Each is one number per day. No words, no IP address, no cookies and no identifiers are stored. If you arrived from one of our Google ads, the count also records the ad’s search keyword (for example “custom crossword”), kept in this browser for 30 days, so we can see which ads bring buyers.

Google Ads

The page loads the Google Ads tag to measure which ads bring visitors and purchases: when you come back from the checkout, it tells Google Ads that a purchase happened and its price, never your words or your email. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland it runs without cookies. Elsewhere it may set ad measurement cookies. It is never used for personalised advertising. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Payment

The checkout is run by Payhip, which also collects sales tax and VAT, with PayPal or your card. Payhip receives your email address, name and country to process the order and send your receipt; see Payhip’s privacy policy. We see your order in Payhip so we can help if something goes wrong. We never see your card details.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.
